About Us

At the Pepper tree we specialise in the care of children ages 3 months to 3 years.
The groups are small and intermit affording more individualized attention.
The children are grouped according to milestone achievements – not age, as all children achieve the growth milestones at different ages.
# Infants learning to sit & crawl
# Crawling children learning to walk
# Confident walking & running children

The Nursery

This group caters for the small babies learning to sit and crawl.
A full time Carer and an assistant care for these babies.
Each baby has their own cot and individual bedding supplied by yourself. Fresh bedding is replaced each Monday. The weekly bedding is taken home on Fridays for laundering.
Each child has a cubby and bag hook for their personal items & bags. Daily feedback is provided in a message book.
Basic activities eg:tummy time & singing are practised with this group to assist in achieving their growth milestones.
Once the baby is confidently crawling they move on to the next group of “Wobblers”.

The Wobblers

This group caters for children who are crawling and learning to walk.
A full time Carer and an assistant care for the children.
Each child either their own cot or futon & bedding, supplied by yourself.
Fresh bedding replaced each Monday. The weekly bedding is taken home on Friday for laundering.
Each child has a cubby and bag hook for their personal items & bags. Daily feedback is provided in a message book.
Activities such as messy play / sensory activities / music & movement are practised with this group, free play is also encouraged, all aiding in growth milestones.
Once the child is confidently walking and running they move on to the next group.

The Toddlers

This group caters for children who are confidently walking / crawling and taking one midday nap.
A full time Teacher and Assistant with additional assistance if required.
Each child has a cubby and bag hook for their personal items & bags – daily feedback is provided in a message book.
Nap time children sleep on mattress covered in a waterproof outer.
Blanket / bedding is supplied by yourself – a good option is a mini sleeping bag – brought on Mondays and taken home on Friday for laundering.
A full morning routine is followed with activities such as messy play / sensory activities / music and movement / fun games promoting gross motor skills & fine motor skills, free play and imagination play is encouraged.

Menu

A fully balanced menu is provided weekly – displayed in the reception for viewing.
Included is:
Breakfast
Morning Snack
Lunch
Afternoon Snack
All meals are home cooked on the premises
should you wish to send additional snacks you may do so, however
NO Nuts or products with nuts are sent (High Allergy Risk)

Sick / Hygiene Policy

The children we care for are young and are in the process of building up their immune systems.
In order for us to provide and maintain a healthy environment, we request that should your child be ill necessary care is taken that they remain at home. (fever / diarrhoea / rash etc.)
Microbes are all around us, and contagious – we aim to avoid unnecessary spreading of those germs as much as possible.
Great care is taken to maintain a healthy & hygienic space for your children.
